'On The Road With Legacy' - Quarter 3            Print Legacy Newsletter

In Legacy’s travels throughout North Carolina and Virginia over the past few months, many people comment to us how much it seems like we enjoy what we do. If you have never seen or heard Legacy, you will understand their comments once you attend one of our services. Simply put, we have the greatest news to share in the history of mankind. We are assured of an eternal home, through no merit of our own. We have a friend and Savior who stands by us both on the mountaintop, and through the valley of the shadow of death.

We are excited about the love that God shows and our services reflect that fact. As well, we believe in having fun. I see people all the time getting so excited about NASCAR races and sports games, but the end result of those games pales in comparison to the end result of a life served for the Lord. You will see a lot of good, clean Christian humor as well as hear the gospel proclaimed through song. As well, you will hear testimonies of how God has delivered each of us, many through miraculous physical and spiritual healing.

Next to telling other people about Jesus, the most enjoyable aspect of traveling all those long miles is seeing such wonderful people and meeting new friends. We have many special friends who continually support us whenever we are in their particular area and we are so grateful for the love you all show. You all know who you are and we love and appreciate you very much.

Before we close, there are a couple of exciting happenings taking place in Legacy. First of all, at just about every service, there are particular songs that are requested which Legacy sings. Most of these songs were on the earlier tapes, which were never made in a CD format. Legacy has compiled the most requested songs from all the prior tapes and is having these transferred into a single CD format. This will both allow you all who have requested certain songs to hear those and as well, have it in a CD format (which was previously unavailable).

We hope to see you at a service very soon.

In Christian Love,

Tim Perry for Legacy

'On The Road With Legacy' - Quarter 1
Spring has arrived and with it the sights and sounds of flowers blooming, birds singing and nature celebrating a new beginning. That is exactly what the Christian walk is all about. It’s wonderful how God can take a sinful life and wash it white as snow with a fresh new start through the blood of Jesus Christ. Praise the Lord!!

Legacy has been busy during 2003 traveling many miles to tell people the good news about our Lord. Our personal lives have been very busy as well. The majority of this newsletter will bring you up to date on what’s been happening “behind the scenes”.

Our newest addition to Legacy is Samuel Lee, (who came into the world at 10 lbs and 2 oz.!!). He is the newborn son of our drummer Brad Lee and his wife Heather. He certainly makes his grandpa, Durwood Hargis (pianist) proud!! James Kirby (lead singer) is also beaming over his first grandchild, Megan Lynn, born this past October to his son Stanley and wife Nancy. Not to be left out, Mike Aycock (baritone singer) announced he was going to be a grandpa (again) as well, by his son Tim and wife Kathy. (I never knew I would be singing with so many grandfathers!!!)

In other news, Walter Bass’ son Kevin will be getting married this month (April). Andy Mitchell, our bass guitar player, is still receiving God’s blessings. Many of you knew that a couple of years ago, the best doctor’s at Johns Hopkins only gave him 6 months to live due to incurable cancer. God healed Andy completely of cancer. Shortly thereafter, Andy flipped the wrecker he was driving, and broke his back in several places. The doctor’s told him he would probably not walk. God healed him of that and he says he now “feels like running”!! The devil has tried to throw several adversities Andy’s way, but God has led him through every one of them. One more bit of news for Andy. His son Drew, will be graduating from college this year (and making a proud daddy out of Andy!!)

Finally, I would have to say that I really don’t have anything new to report on myself. My beautiful wife Pat, did tell me that she saw a few more gray hairs in my head the other day. (I think Mike and Walter have been secretly giving me some of theirs). One other matter, Pat and myself will be celebrating nine years of wonderful married bliss this May. She has been a rock-solid supporter of my singing and I love and appreciate her for that.

That’s it for this quarter. We would love to see you all at a sing real soon. Gospel music is the only form of music where the words can change a life. Let us tell you about the best friend you’ll ever have, Jesus.

In Christian Love,

Tim Perry
